probably mostly because as I stitched I envisioned having a real life apple orchard of my own. I dream of summer evenings spent laying in a hammock hung between apple tree branches. Looking up at leaves and the soft fading sunlight shining through them. Swaying in the breeze.....

I ate my first apple of the year from my parents tree the other day. Small and no where near ripe, but delicious and tangy. A promise of what is to come this autumn. I wonder how long I can make myself wait before I give in and make the first apple crumble. Probably not long!

This little lady reminds me of our corn plant at the start of spring. Id not grown corn previously but I certainly will do so again, if only for all the lady bugs it attracted to my garden

You are so clever, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so sweet! I love it. I am already getting excited about the apple blossoms coming this spring... :)
ReplyDeleteI love your orchard! So wonderful! Trees are one of my favorite things to embroider.
ReplyDeleteQuite a few years ago my daughters wanted trees for Christmas, an apple tree and an orange tree. We got them wooden apple trees and wooden pear trees, but I still wanted my youngest to get her orange tree so I made her a small bag and embroidered an orange tree on it, very similar to the style you did.
Beautiful and inspiring, thank s for sharing!
Your apple orchard is looking so cute! It's amazing what just a little bit of stitching each day does - before you know it you've finished the lot and have a new quilt or whatever!! Like magic!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've chosen for the patchwork - so springy and pretty!
LOvely embroidery. Your trees are so sweet. I am glad you were able to enjoy your first apple of the new year too.
ReplyDeleteYou just keep right on stitching... I'm loving every bit of it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie

ReplyDeleteOh, this is beautiful! I really need to start trying some embroidery, thanks for the motivation!
ReplyDeleteSO sweet, I love the hand embroidery on the quilt. An apple orchard sounds divine. Alas none of the apple trees I have planted have survived in Central Florida even though they are from this area. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty combination of fabrics! I can almost smell the apple pie in the oven!
